'Feuilly was a workingman, a fan-maker, orphaned both of father and mother, who earned with difficulty three francs a day, and had but one thought, to deliver the world. He had one other preoccupation, to educate himself; he called this also, delivering himself. He had taught himself to read and write; everything that he knew, he had learned by himself. Feuilly had a generous heart. The range of his embrace was immense.'

Feuilly is my favourite of the Les Amis de l'ABC, he belongs to Victor Hugo not me.

Yeah, he was definitely a favorite of mine, too. I love the angle you chose and I'm amused that it his room looks my dorm room at SCAD.

I cannot tell you how perfect this is. I love all the fans on the wall, his simple bed, his ink-stained hands, the neatness of his hair and vest, his profile, his concentration- all of which I think will inform my image and idea of Feuilly in a great way. Long live Poland, and our Feuilly- in song and story.
